Buckeyes on top.

Here is my college football ranking for the games played after Week 5. The system is a simplified +/- point system based on margins of victories, controlling for runaway scores. Victories against (lower division) FCS teams are not rewarded at all, while losses to FCS teams are punished.

All teams that are tied in my ranking are listed alphabetically. The most noticeable difference in this ranking as opposed to the AP or Coaches, is that I have Georgia at #6 instead of #2. Unlike the teams ahead, the Bulldogs did play an FCS game.

1. Ohio State 14 points

2. Alabama 13

3. Michigan, 12

3. Penn State 12

3. USC 12

6. Georgia 10

6. Mississippi St 10

8. Clemson 9

9. Coastal Carolina 8

9. Illinois 8

9. Maryland 8

9. Ole Miss 8

9. Syracuse 8

9. Tennessee 8

9. UCLA 8

9. Utah 8

17. Cincinatti 7

17. James Madison 7

17. Kansas 7

17. Memphis 7

17. Minnesota 7

17. Oklahoma State 7
