A change in attitude
Lesson 38 of A Course in Miracles
Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
There is nothing my holiness cannot do. (ACIM, W-38)
Is this plausible?
The Course has been conditioning us so far that it is. We can see things differently. We can see peace in every situation.
This was key to me; “⁴Your holiness, then, can remove all pain, can end all sorrow, and can solve all problems.”
I did take on a feeling of invincibility when contemplating this lesson throughout the day. Often, affirmations of the “everything will work out” variety come from wishful thinking; I want the conditions of the world to change in my favor — to make the world more fun and less stressful — but I don’t want to change my own beliefs and attitudes.``
But it is through the change in beliefs and attitudes, through recognizing one’s own holiness, that the world can truly be more fun and less stressful.
