Seeing what I’m already thinking.

Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.

“I am determined to see”. (ACIM, W-20)

The terminology of the Course seems increasingly Christian:

⁶God has one Son, and he is the resurrection and the life. ⁷His will is done because all power is given him in Heaven and on earth. ⁸In your determination to see is vision given you. (ACIM, W-20.3:6–8)

In a previous lesson, we’re told that our eyes don’t “see.” What we think we’re seeing are actually images we made from our thoughts.

If that is so, then the very lessons that I seem to be reading with my very eyes are really thoughts I already have.

This suggests I have powers that I don’t yet comprehend. Maybe that’s the very thing we’re learning to see.
