Lesson 186
Salvation of the world depends on me. (ACIM, W-186)
⁵Salvation of the world depends on you who can forgive. ⁶Such is your function here. (ACIM, W-186.14:5–6)
I believe my function here is to have a good time; a lovely time. Happiness, enjoyment, peace — all the good things in life are related to love.
To forgive is to feel and express love for others even if they haven’t expressed love to you. The salvation of “the” world depends on it because the salvation of YOUR world depends on it.
Regret, resentment, and bitterness make you feel bad. They cannot improve your life. What, really, are we ever to be saved from but these feelings?
God wants you to be happy. God wants you to forgive. But God can’t make you forgive.
Only you can do that.
