Happiness is acceptance

Salvation boiled down.

Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.

LESSON 98

I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation. (ACIM, W-98)

The requirements today seem a little more stringent: you have to spend five minutes each hour saying “I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation.” (ACIM, W-98.7:6)

The Course is almost asking people to wait, to put the Course on hold, until there is a day where one’s schedule is compatible to do this. Even on a day off from work, it can be quite a challenge. The irony is that we are to celebrate with certainty that “We side with truth and let illusions go” (ACIM, W-98.1:3–4) and my thought is, “Do I have to?”

Today, as it turns out, it appears I will be able to do this. I’ll complete my commentary later in the day or the following day.

It’s now the following day. This was the first time I was attentive to keep these breaks every 5 minutes. It was a very productive day and I didn’t feel tired. Feelings of anger or frustration were very few and gone in a flash.
