Ocean water has a lot of salt. It’s still water in that H20 is its essence. Swimming pool water is still water despite the chlorine. River water often has chemicals from sewage and industrial pollution. It’s still water. So is rainwater, which also may have parasites and chemicals. Fluoride might be in your tap water. It’s still water.

Water’s still water, no matter how adulterated it may be. I think the Course is suggesting that I am God no matter how my thoughts have adulterated my self-image. I might not see God in me, but God remains my essence.
