Love takes time
It’s a process to uproot old beliefs.
Welcome to Daily Miracles, a running commentary on the 365 lessons of A Course in Miracles, an influential spiritual text from the 1970s. I am James Leroy Wilson and I invite you to join me as I go through this material for the first time.
Lesson 172 (Review)
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
1. (153) In my defenselessness my safety lies. (ACIM, W-172.1:1)
In Love, there is no loss, only gain. No damage, only healing. No ugliness, only beauty. Nothing in love gets worse, only better.
Defenselessness is fearlessness, and only in fearlessness can one “feel” the security that Love (that is, God), can provide.
2. (154) I am among the ministers of God. (ACIM, W-172.2:1)
You are always a “minister,” an ambassador, of your own beliefs. You can’t really be anything else. But you may not always be conscious of what you believe. If you agree with the ideas expressed in A Course in Miracles or other spiritual paths but find yourself still feeling anxious and resentful, it’s because fear and separateness are deep-seated and produce almost automatic responses.
I think this Course is designed for over a year (longer, in my case) because uprooting long-held but destructive beliefs is an ongoing process.
