My style of political incorrectness: ten examples

Political Correctness on the Left is well-known: don’t say anything that is or could be interpreted as insensitive or offensive to members of certain groups. The Political Correctness of the Right has a lot to do with proper etiquette surrounding our hymns and oaths to the American Flag.

My political incorrectness, however, is trans-partisan. Some examples.

1. If a nation has a recent and persistent record of meddling in foreign elections, aiding coup d’ etats, and toppling regimes through bombings and invasions, then it kind of deserves to see its own elections compromised by foregin intervention. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

2. It doesn’t matter if they’re Repubican or Democrat, “imperialist” is the proper word to describe those who claim America has the right (or responsibility) to meddle overseas. I don’t see how imperialism is any better than racism or any other form of bigotry.

3. No American soldier died fighting to preserve democracy. I don’t see any evidence.

4. In World War II, the troops fought for “freedom” in that they liberated Paris and Rome from the fascists. For most Americans, the rest of Eurasian land mass mass might as well not exist until they’re told by the imperialists that some country is a “threat.”

5. Imagine a movie was made 40 years ago that accurately portrayed today’s America. As soon as the fascist-sounding “Homeland Security” was mentioned, or a…
