Unpersuaded and Unafraid

I’m not convinced your enemies are mine

I suspect the greatest threat to my health isn’t external threats, or even what I put into my body. It’s the fear I choose to enter my mind. Why have the stress?

So I’m not having any of it. I die when I die. Fear just takes the joy out of living.

Vaccines don’t scare me. Your unvaccinated child doesn’t scare me either.

Crime doesn’t scare me. Guns don’t scare me. Terrorists don’t scare me. If something terrible happens to me or a loved one, it’ll be random.

Immigrants don’t scare me, from whatever land.

No dictator scares me. And a woman having an abortion is a threat to her fellow Americans like an overseas dictator “killing his own people” in a civil war. Meaning, she’s no threat at all.

Threats to Israel’s security is not my problem.

I’m not afraid of inexpensive foreign-made goods. I like them.

The weather doesn’t scare me. Every region has its risks.

“No GMO’s. No meat or animal products. No sugar. No gluten. No carbs. No additives. No processed food. Otherwise, eat whatever you want!” Whatever.

Your use of illegal drugs doesn’t scare me. Your use of legal drugs doesn’t scare me.

I have no idea what’s going on during days of highly irregular air traffic, and probably won’t ever know, anymore than I’ll know how Building 7 fell. But what am I going to do? Fret about it?

Even if it’s just water vapor, why so many planes at once?

Video games, football, Hollywood, and the Kardashians don’t threaten my culture.

Whoever you vote won’t scare me. Your choice not to vote is nobody’s business. It won’t change any outcome.

“Our Democracy” isn’t in danger, because it never existed. I’ll be as likely to be killed by a cop, imprisoned by an unjust law, searched electronically without a warrant, or see a loved one acquire PTSD from a war, no matter who’s in power.

If there isn’t anything I can do about a problem, and that problem has entirely do with other people and their actions, then I don’t think it’s really a problem.
